OmegA will Launch National Security Missions for the U.S. Space Force
Kirkland, Wash. 31 May 2020 – Northrop Grumman selected Systima Technologies as an Outstanding Supplier supporting the OmegA rocket, which will launch national security missions for the U.S. Space Force. OmegA is on track for its first launch in spring of 2021.
“It is remarkable to see it all come together and be part of the OmegA program,” said Tom Prenzlow, president, Systima Technologies. “This recognition means a lot to Systima and our team working hard to make it happen. Collaboration with our customers is critical to our success, and we value our partnership with Northrop Grumman.”
Systima is providing the separation systems for the two staging events and the payload fairing on the OmegA rocket. These systems include multiple energetic devices that push the stages and fairing apart and away from the vehicle. Development, testing, qualification and production of the entire systems is taking place at Systima’s main campus in Kirkland, Washington, and at Systima’s new production facility in nearby Maltby, Washington.
Systima supports multiple other platforms for Northrop Grumman by providing high-performance structures, payload launch systems, separation systems, insensitive munition solutions and energetic components such as pyrovalves.
