Technology at a Higher Level
To make the impossible achievable, space agencies need more than lofty ideas. Our deep understanding of spaceflight requirements enables us to intake client concepts and develop solutions with unparalleled effectiveness. We remove the limitations of multi-vendor supply chains with a vertically integrated production process that produces subsystems at higher speed and lower cost and with the right-sized reliability for the level of risk your mission demands. With manufacturing capabilities that include working with advanced materials and complex structures, the only limit on your mission is the limit of its ambition.
Getting Possible Off the Ground
Whether putting satellites into orbit or exploring deep space horizons, America’s aerospace endeavors demand relentlessly reliable technology to go above and beyond. For decades, Karman has been a key contributor to the nation’s Space programs, providing mission-critical hardware designed to perform in the most extreme environments.
Our expertise in engineering systems for launch vehicles is unparalleled in the industry. From tip-to-tail, we deliver complete solutions that comprehensively meet impossibly precise mission requirements.
ULA Launch Vehicle
Our flight-proven systems helped fuel a new era of space exploration when Karman took on the role of key supplier for the inaugural launch of United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) Vulcan launch vehicle on its first certification mission. Our contribution to the mission included creating critical hardware from tip-to-tail on the Graphite Epoxy Motors (GEM 63XL) solid rocket boosters and developing various dynamic and energetic systems throughout the Vulcan vehicle.
iSpace Lunar Lander
As a part of Team Draper, Karman continues to play a pivotal role in designing and producing a lunar lander that will deliver three NASA-sponsored science payloads to the moon’s Schrodinger basin in 2025. Karman leads the manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of the lander, leveraging trusted analytical tools and unparalleled production capabilities to ensure the delivered vehicle will unflinchingly meet mission requirements.
The Final Frontier Begins Here
For decades, Karman has been a key contributor to the nation’s Space programs, playing an integral role in the development of lunar landers to deep space telescopes. Our deep domain expertise continues to set the standard for what’s achievable in aerospace engineering.
Incorporating advanced material technologies and complex manufacturing capabilities, we develop high-reliability solutions that survive and thrive in challenging mission environments. So whether breaking the boundary to outer space or returning to earth, cross the line confidently with Karman technology.
Spacecraft Systems
Our team recently celebrated its crucial role in the success of NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Mission. As a key supplier and instrumental collaborator, Karman contributed across the design, development, manufacturing, and qualification of mission-critical hardware on both the OSIRIS-REx capsule and United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) Atlas V Rocket. Across our clients we provide critical assemblies for spacecraft, crewed space missions, space stations, and more.
